Cheese & Wine Thursday Evenings 2009
These sessions are well attended, with all four courts in use, even if
there's drizzle (or snow) in the air -“Thursday- nighters” are a hardy, cheerful
bunch! Adam Chambers, one of the club coaches, is a regular player, and he
and Emily Martin help to enhance everybody's game. We have players of
various standards, mixing in and having lots
of fun, and visitors are always made very welcome. Emily also helps
organise the cheese and wine evenings, which have become increasingly
popular. Even when we had as many as 28 turn up, everyone gets to play a
few times because we introduce 'the first to win 4 games' set, so no-one
waits too long. Thanks to all the many helpers who are always there to
help clear up in the clubhouse afterwards.
